Cheers James - I really agonized over the colours, ended up with far too many layers and I'll probably never be able to replicate it! Roll on Sunday...
A nicely laid-out page with great textured colour work - and that's the exact same layout as one of my local greasy spoons, which I'd charitably call a shithole. You've captured the place uncannily.
I was thinking that myself. It has that feel of some of the legendary cafes down on the Dock Road in Liverpool, which people say had to be encased in concrete, towed out and sunk in the Irish Sea.
We are few, but the ideas are manifold, and the intentions probably far beyond our capabilities... The Emperor drives a knackered old bus whilst five dangerous drawing types throw visual roadblocks, chicanes and sleeping policemen at him - will it end up in a ditch? Almost certainly... but it should be an interesting ride.
Nice to see the finished page, work permitting I'll have mine up for Sunday, great colours by the way

ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many layers! Love the texture on the walls...
ReplyDeleteIs it too much to gush about this again here?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think so...
Something akin to Niagara Falls should go somewhere about here then.
Great work Matt. I have a good feeling about this!
Yes really lovely page - the degraded texture is looking seriously edgy, you can almost smell the greasy spoon aromas.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece of work - looking forward to seeing more of this unfolding epic.
